time is getting short!

Sure are having a warm winter up north.  Heard the trees are already budding and the ice is out!  way too early for both of those to happen.  Doesn't look the local maple syrup producers are getting too much sap. One source said about 10% of a good year.  that means we would have been able to make about 5 jars!  not enough to get us through the year.  hopefully next year we will have a "normal" winter.

Hot and Humid today at work.  seen a scissor tailed flycatcher: forgot my camera..  this is from the internet.

Scissor-tailed Flycatcher

after work we went for a river cruise and then dinner with the other volunteers.  it was really fun and a beautiful night to be on the river.

we really don't spend enough time with the other volunteers.  they are so nice and lots of fun.

pretty uneventful work day on Tuesday.  lots of branches to pick up and get out off of the trails.

woke up to 54 degs, according to the Internet it was 59 in Birchwood!  we flip flopped again..  We plan on being home by April 6th.  assume that the weather will change before we get home..

thinking about packing up for the long trip home.  it is suppose to be hot and humid this weekend.  would prefer to lounge around than pack but it is time to get ready.

Beautiful day on the refuge.  the weather was perfect.  the sky was so blue, a few high clouds and a light wind.  We sat outside after dinner for a few hours, the bugs stayed away...  making today a perfect 10.

Friends Fred and Kim made it to Texas, will be with them in a week.
