First day of work!

We headed into work this morning at about 8:15. the cabbage pickers were already working..

Our work place is about 2 miles away..

we spent the first hour+ with our supervisor Drew.  He took us on a walking tour, gave us shirts and hats and keys.  introduced us to some of the staff and then let us go off on our own to get acquainted with the refuge.

the Rio Grande:

Since Mexico is just over the river, my cell phone started acting up.  getting messages from Mexico.. 

will need to make sure I shut it off when we are close to the river..

we took a tram tour of the refuge then walked one of the trails with pruners..



by the time we leave here all the trails will be perfect!!  our work schedule is 3 days a week.  we are going to try Mon-Wed  then off Thus - Sun.  if we get a rainy day we will switch it for Thurs..  pretty flexible. 

We are thinking this is exactly the job we have been wishing for..  see how much we like it in another month!  Tomorrow we will prune another trail..  or two!
