Wet Weekend

Sat: Woke up this morning to rain, not heavy but very steady.  Of course we need the rain, it has been so dry here, hopefully this will help a little bit.  Our power went out this morning at about 8:15.  we had already eaten breakfast so we were ok, but our neighbors were still sleeping, so no coffee for them!

We thought of going to the movies but nothing of interest was playing.  We went to pick up mail then off to an International Festival at a local Greek Orthodox church.  too bad it was raining..  the vendors moved inside so it was quite crowded and hard to get around.  we picked up a container of Spanikopita and Triopita along with some baklava!  we made them for dinner they were wonderful.   For lunch we stopped at a Tacqueria for some pork tacos and fixings.  the wait staff did not speak English but we managed to order our food to go.  It was very good.

this evening is still raining.  we put on WOJB out of Hayward on the computer to listen to some Blue Grass and Honky Tonk music.  Eric made some Popcorn..

it was pretty good!  we couldn't have a campfire so he made it on the stove..  maybe next time we can pop it outside.

Eric has been trying to catch a mouse since we returned from New Orleans.  so far the mouse is winning the war.  He has 6 traps out bu the mouse just takes the peanut butter, sometimes not even tripping the trap!  He needs to beef up the arsenal..

Sun: still misting and cloudy and a bit cool.  good day to hang, Eric went out to get breakfast, a wonderful cinnamon roll from the bakery and breakfast burritos with egg and chirizo!  all good.  did a bit of laundry and read the paper before going grocery shopping.

Since we could watch the Packers we decided to have Wis brats,  homemade Wis dilled green tomatos and Wis yellow tomato salsa for dinner along with one of my last Michelob Golden Light Draft beers and one of Eric's final Linnies!  Its going to be a long winter without our favorite Wis Beers.   We might need to get some shipped down for the Super Bowl!

tomorrow is a work day..
