Work, Work, Work

wow we did a lot of work this week.  cleared a lot of paths, some were really overgrown.  the weather changed on Sunday night so it was quite cold this week.  we did have plenty of warm clothes with us so it was not a problem.  actually it was better to work in the cooler weather, long sleeves to keep our arms protected from all the thorny bushes, kept the snakes and insects in hibernation and no sweating..

we walked mostly on Monday, drove and walked on Tues and drove on Wed..  by Wed we were getting a bit tired so did lighter work.  we have identified a few birds and seen another snake.  not sure what kind yet.  we did find two skulls, one is a mystery the other we think is a beaver.  will need to check with the experts.

We have met a few neighbors, Terri and Tim from Ohio, Carol and Mike from Illinois, Betty and Sam from Madison Wis, Kurt and Virginia from North Texas and a few others whose names I have forgotten.  all of them are "Full timers".  meaning they don't have a home but live in their RV.  One lady I met today said they have been Full Timers for 10 years!  They go from place to place volunteering.

Eric and I are not at that point.  We really love our home in Wis and are not willing to give it up.  All but one of the couples we met so far have been here before.  we need to pick their brains for food and things to see and do.

Everyone is very friendly but once back at the compound they stay to themselves. a few have dogs so do walk them around and will stop if we are outside.

we have the next four days off. the weather should be about 70 in the afternoon and 50 at night.
