Forecast was for rain all day so we left Clear Lake at 8:00 this morning. The wind was at our back so driving was not too bad. Did not get any pictures but the landscape was really pretty. We are at Lake Wapello State Park in South Central Iowa. Last night we had 3 other campers in the park, tonight we are alone... almost like being home.. no neighbors! If it was not raining there were places we would have stopped. maybe on the way back in April we will have an opportunity to see some of the sights.
We plan on being here for two nights, so hopefully the rain will stop and we can go see some local sights and get some FOOD! I am thinking Iowa should have some good pork chops somewhere.. will try to find some tomorrow..
We went to friends Nancy and Kevin's home on Sunday for dinner, they gave us a doggie bag with some absolutely delicious honey baked ham... so we have been having wonderful sandwiches, we are not starving but we need to get some local food before leaving this wonderful state!
